A Message from Gerald Roper

Dear Friends:

As a Montgomery County resident for more than thirty years, I have a deep understanding of our community and what makes it special. Although we are recognized as one of the most progressive counties in the nation, I believe Montgomery County can be even better. That’s why I am running in the Democratic Primary Election for the Maryland House of Delegates, District 14. I want to bring new ideas and real solutions to Montgomery County, and I need your support to get elected.

Why support me?

I have the experience needed to get the job done. I began my career in public service at the U.S. Department of Commerce after graduating from law school in 1972. I spent a large part of my career working for the District of Columbia as an Administrative Law Judge, then as a Senior Hearing Examiner. I also served as Vice-Chairman of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. I concluded my career as the Director of Minority Business, Maryland Transit Administration and Maryland Department of Transportation.

I will be a champion for Montgomery County and bring state tax dollars back to our community. We in Montgomery County know we send a lot of tax dollars to Annapolis, yet it remains a challenge to get our fair share. I’ll work to improve the allocation formulas to: fund a comprehensive transportation solution; maintain and improve our world-class education system; support small and local businesses; make our workforce competitive and protect our environment for future generations.

In the coming months from now until Election Day, I will be traveling the District to connect with voters. I want to hear your concerns and I want to share my plans for a better Maryland with you. I encourage you to Get Involved in my campaign by volunteering to join me or by making a donation.

Sincerely,

signatue

Gerald Roper

Candidate for Maryland House of Delegates

Montgomery County, District 14
